Sasha Grey is redefining the term "porn star." Like previous stars, she is very pleasing to the eye, and has sex on camera. At the same time, she doesn't hide her intellect from her fans, and she has managed to become a public face for the porn industry while resisting the porn stereotype of a bleach blonde babe with big fake tits. While other starlets have looked for opportunities to crossover into the mainstream entertainment world, Sasha seems to have succeeded without trying. She has made it clear that she has no intention of leaving porn no matter how much mainstream success she may enjoy.

Sasha grew up in Sacramento, California where she graduated highschool in 2005. In 2005, she decided to become an adult performer. She moved to Los Angeles and started her career in 2006 just after turning 18.

Sasha asserts that she enjoys “a lot of dirty talk…the more psychological the better”. After starring in Steven Soderbergh's film The Girlfriend Experience, Miss Grey presented the keynote address at the 2010 AVN conference describing her efforts to move "seemlessly" between the worlds of porn and mainstream entertainment. Other signs of mainstream acceptance include her successful inroads into the music industry her selection by Newsweek magazine to write a short article about the Mark Sanford Affair, and PETA selecting her as the model for their new campaign encouraging people to spay or neuter their pets.

Sasha is cast as "an even wilder version of herself" in the HBO show Entourage. In the multi-episode arc, she played Vincent Chase's girlfriend Although she and Vince broke up at the end of the season, she appeared in the season's final scene, leaving many wondering whether her character will reappear next season
